DATE: 15TH SEPTEMBER 2018 TIME: 10AM - 1.30PM COST: €50
Ciaran will share his vast plant knowledge and his experiences of how he manages to look after and arrange over 180 ornamental containers that now constitutes his "garden". After downsizing from a one acre garden to a gravel yard, he has adapted to growing plants that he loves in containers. Many are plants that came from the garden in Mayo, others are plants propagated by cuttings and seed, other acquired from trips to garden centres and nurseries. Living in the comparatively winter cold county of Kildare, all the plants cultivated have to be frost hardy.
Learn how to indulge your love of nature and passion for plants without having a garden. Ciaran's containers range from larger trees to the tiniest pots for alpines. He believes that wherever you are living, you can use plant containers to engage with nature and grow a love of gardening.
